Supervises: Program Managers, Case Managers, and other program-related staff
About Haus of Codec
Haus of Codec is dedicated to ending transition-aged youth homelessness in Providence through the arts, workforce development, and essential services. We provide safe shelter, food and clothing pantries, and community-based resources to support youth ages 18-24 in securing long-term stability.
Position Summary
The Director of Housing Programs role focuses on the strategic oversight and hands-on management of youth-focused services at Haus of Codec. The individual in this position will lead program strategy, oversee case management, coordinate housing and mental health services, and ensure high-impact, community-centered programming aligned with HOC’s mission.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership:
Develop and implement a comprehensive program strategy aligning with HOC’s mission and goals.
Identify community needs and emerging trends to guide program development and expansion.
Collaborate with leadership to integrate program strategies with overall organizational objectives.
Program Development and Oversight:
Oversee the design, implementation, and evaluation of all programs to ensure they are effective, equitable, and impactful.
Maintain a strong focus on youth-centered, trauma-informed, and culturally competent practices.
Ensure all programs and program related data comply with funding requirements, legal standards, and HOC policies.
Develop and manage program budgets in collaboration with the Operations Director and Case Managers.
Supervise case management, streamline processes, update documentation systems, and oversee service data collection.
Team Management & Supervisory Duties:
Lead, mentor, and supervise program staff, including 1-2 Case Manager(s), 1 Clinical Social Worker and 1 Workforce Development coordinator, fostering a culture of collaboration, dialogue, accountability, and professional growth.
Support staff in setting goals, addressing challenges, and enhancing service delivery.
Conduct regular staff evaluations and provide opportunities for professional development.
Direct Youth Support & Housing Services:
Oversee housing programs, including shelter, transitional housing, and rapid-rehousing programs.
Provide direct support and referrals to appropriate services such as healthcare, mental health support, education, and job training.
Spend time in our housing facilities, professionally engaging and building productive relationships with youth and maintaining case notes regarding relevant interactions.
Plan and develop responsive programs and services, particularly for LGBTQQ youth.
Maintain state Homelessness Management Information Systems (HMIS) and Coordinated Entry System (CES), keeping information accurately up to date, attend required training and attend HMIS office hours when necessary ensuring client and program outcome information is accurate and available in real time.
Partnerships and Advocacy:
Cultivate relationships and strategic partnerships with community partners like healthcare, mental health, and other service provider agencies to support residents’ current and ongoing needs.
Represent HOC in public forums, advocacy efforts, and collaborations.
Advocate for transition-age youth needs within broader community and policy contexts.
Data and Reporting:
Manage and Implement new changes to HOC’s systems to track program outcomes and ensure data-driven decision-making.
Work with the Operations Director, Grants Manager and Executive Director to prepare reports that demonstrate impact and effectiveness to our funders and board of directors.
Use evaluation insights to continuously improve and refine programs.
Must have experience handling sensitive and confidential client data.
Qualifications
Education & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Public Administration, Nonprofit Management, or a related field, Master’s degree or related certifications preferred.
3-5+ years of experience in nonprofit program management, youth development, and/or case management roles with supervisory experience.
Experience working with diverse populations, especially LGBTQQ youth.
Be able to demonstrate a proven track record of client and programmatic success.
Knowledge of youth learning and development theory.
Skills & Competencies:
Strong leadership and organizational skills.
Be able to prioritize tasks based on client and organizational needs.Be Flexible with prioritizing clients' needs, “meeting them where they are at.”
Excellent public speaking, facilitation, and interpersonal communication skills.
Proficiency in program evaluation, data analysis, and using metrics to inform decision-making.
Ability to navigate and build relationships within diverse communities.
Bilingual in Spanish is preferred but not required.
Must pass a background check and possess a valid driver’s license.
Compensation & Benefits
Salary Range: $56,160, $27/h.
Benefits include health, life insurance, and optional for dental and vision insurance.
Biweekly payroll; direct deposit preferred.
38-40 hours per week, with flexibility for events and community needs.
