Good Afternoon Community Partners. After nearly a year of planning. Haus of Codec is opening its doors tonight to provide emergency shelter for folx 18 - 24. A few things you must know before referring folx to the shelter. We have 6 beds for referrals and 2 emergency cots for walk-ins. These are available on a first come first serve basis. We ask that if you have someone in need, please have them call ahead to our shelter 401-484-7465 Shelter residents will have 1 meal provided for them (typically breakfast) on a daily basis. A small kitchen area will be made available for folx if they wish to make something for themselves and/or the other residents. Our doors open at 6pm. Thank you for your support and dedication to this community project. We couldn't have done it without you.
Our second wave of outreach included our LGBTQQIA+ network of artists and vendors.
On December 6th Haus of Codec reached 85% capacity.
Referal sourcess included Youth Pride Inc., House of Hope CDC and Foster Forward.
Work-force Development for residents. Strategic Community Partnerships to ensure a broad spectrum of care and knowledge.
On December 1st, 2022 Haus of Codec hopes to expand it's campus to provide the following: Capacity for 40 individuals : ages 18 - 25, a safe space with access to emergency services; from peers to peers with programs developed and implemented by existing partner network. 16 Supportive Transition Based Housing Units leased on a month to month basis to low or no income residents. Housing Support Services will be made available through Community Development Corporations in the Neighborhood. 24 emergency beds will be available nightly by lottery to those who either sign up online or at one of the shelter’s partner network agencies.
